Replace Starter - Chrysler Town & Country / Dodge Caravan by Dave Wirth
How to remove / replace / install the starter on your 2007 Chrysler Town and Country or Dodge Caravan. We realized the starter was bad when we turned the key and only heard a CLICK. Not tick, tick, tick, tick (which would have been a low battery). So we bought the starter with a coupon code for just $70, then installed it. Seeing that it was only 2 bolts we thought it was going to be fairly easy. Unfortunately we had to remove the radiator fan, plastic shroud, and frame rail just to remove the upper bolt. So i hope this helps to explain how to remove the bolts which hold the starter in place. It's not the easiest job in the world but knowing the steps helps a lot.

Bluetooth not Working on iPad - Won't Connect by Dave Wirth
We were having a problem connecting our bluetooth headphones to our iPad and none of the tips online were helping. Finally we realized that although our headphones were on, the only way to connect them were to continue holding the ON button until it connected. Otherwise it was continuing to search for Devices.

Filament Spool Holder - 3D Printer by Dave Wirth
Something that bothered me immediately with the MonoPrice Select Mini 3D printer was the filament holder arm. I didn’t like the fact that it was made of square steel and that it was mounted at 90 degrees to the printer. It didn’t spin smoothly and pulled the filament at an odd angle. I decided to make a new filament holder that would be mounted parallel to the printer and be able to spin much easier. I ended up making the filament holder out of plywood and PVC pipe. It’s simple design simply snaps onto the frame rail of the 3D printer and doesn’t require any complicated brackets. The PVC pipe allows for very smooth unrolling of the filament spool with very low friction, no wheel bearings are needed. This is a great modification that you can easily make for your printer, which prevents any clogging and jamming from stuck filament.

Rotating Turntable - 3D Image - 360 Degree Camera Setup by Dave Wirth
I wanted a way to quickly show someone watching my video's, whatever it is that i built. I though that by using a turntable i would be able to take a series of pictures of the object, while rotating the turntable, then convert that to an animated gif. The animated gif would be a 360 degree rotation of the object. This is also commonly used for showing off products. As usual it took me a few versions to get it right. But i'm happy with the simple design of using marbles set in a groove in two boards. Super simple and strong and it does not wobble or move during rotation.

How to Replace Car Battery - GM Pontiac Grand Prix by Dave Wirth
I didn't think it would be this complicated to change the battery in my 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix, but it was. I had to remove a frame rail and move the electrical box out of the way, just to be able to turn the battery sideways and lift it out. Reinstalling the battery was the same process in reverse. I know this won't help a lot of people, but just to confirm if you have this similar model car, yes you have to do all this just to replace the battery in this GM model car.

Fantasy Football Trophy - Ideas to Make Your Own by Dave Wirth
Here's the fantasy football trophy i made a few years ago. After finding a silver bowl from our local Salvation Army we decided to make a huge base for it. So for around $5 we built this great trophy for our fantasy league. I also got a cheap engraver from Harbor Freight and used it to engrave a metal plaque and engrave the names of each years winner. It's just the right size, sort of big, but not too big to have on a shelf in an office or living room.

Spare Tire Stuck - Town & Country - Dodge Caravan by Dave Wirth
I ran into a problem recently with my 2007 Chrysler Town and Country. I got a flat, changed the tire, then couldn't get the cable to wind back up. Even the tire place couldn't get it to crank back up into place. So i took the entire spare tire bracket off the car and finally was able to wench it back up. Changing the spare tire on the Town & Country / Dodge Caravan is hard enough. The tire is right in the middle, you have to use the pole to lower it down and pull it out from under the car. Then close the rusted butterfly clips to get the tire off. Not easy to do on the side of the road.

Best Beginner 3D Printer - What to Look For by Dave Wirth
So you are looking at maybe buying a 3D printer. I go over a few things that i’ve seen that make for a good beginner 3D printer. Also things to look out for that would make getting into 3D printing difficult. Discuss how much a 3D printer will cost. Before you buy a 3D printer you do need to know a few things about the printers and about what you are looking to print. Whether you just want a cheap 3D printer to mess around with and print little things, or want a more advanced printer with lots of settings and adjustments. What type of filament you plan on printing with. Do you want it to come pre-assembled or are you ok with building the 3D printer yourself.
